Meet Alyssa Gutierrez

Ms. Gutierrez brings to the position years of experience in social and economic policy development, community advocacy, and leadership in both the public and private sector. In Ms. Gutierrez’s role as Policy Director for 9th District Councilmember Rex Richardson, she led the design and implementation of the City’s first economic inclusion initiative, ‘Everyone In’, an economic development strategy that seeks to design policy solutions that deliver economic opportunity to those being left behind in Long Beach’s economy.

In this role, Ms. Gutierrez worked to promote greater collaboration between municipal government, private sector, non-profit sector, and communities through increased civic engagement, participation, and resident leadership development.

Ms. Gutierrez holds a Masters of Social Work with an emphasis in Public Policy, as well as a Bachelors in Psychology- both from California State University, Long Beach. She serves as the Vice President of the Long Beach Democratic Club, is in the Leadership Long Beach Class of 2019, and lives in the Rose Park South Neighborhood of Long Beach along with her husband and three children.
